THE CLUB
Jama'ah Club was established in 2000, and has been a part of Northside ever since. Jama'ah Club has welcomed all students of Northside who want to learn more about Islam or become a part of the community. The goal of Jama'ah club has always been to introduce and spread Islam to others, give a safe and fun environment for teenage Muslims and non-Muslims alike to discuss Islam, and encourage the practice of Islam. Jama'ah Club is meant to create strong bonds between members so that the club is a tight knit group of individuals, like a family. The doors of the sponsor are always open Friday after school, so feel free to stop by and speak your mind, or just come be a part of the club!
THE DINNERS
|
Jama'ah Club is famous for the delicious, educational, and fun dinners it holds every year. Jama'ah Club has historically held two dinner/potluck events each year. One near the beginning of the year in honor of Eid Al-Fitr, and the other in celebration of the end of the school year in May. All are invited to these dinners, and Jama'ah Club members are required to bring one dish each to these dinners. The dinners are meant to be a way for the club to give back to the community and spread the word of Islam, especially by hosting speakers. The dates of the dinners are always set and spread through posters and social media in advance, so be on the lookout for the next dinner!

FUNDRAISING
Along with spreading the word of Islam to Muslims and Non-Muslims, Jama'ah Club also believes in helping those in need. Fundraising events are initiated during the school year and money raised is donated to an Islamic charity, along with funding for the club. Fundraisers usually take place during the lunch periods and can be in the form of candy, chips, and soda sales to students and faculty. This school year students also created their own sadaqah boxes in which they consistently put money into. At the end of the year, members will share ideas about which charity to donate to, and the options will be voted on.
